What I learned today — 29 January 2018

Today we estimated phase 2 of project. At first I was at a complete loss how to provide a high level estimate for this work, but after discussing the next set of features to be developed we could compare it to what was done in phase 1. We assumed that similar work done in phase 1 would take more or less as long as before, and then compared the new, unfamiliar work with it to get an idea of how much more effort will be required. We arrived at a time estimate of a number of months, but time will tell if we are even in the correct ball park.
